My son, who’s turning 12 in March, is careless about his overall wellness as most boys are. It pains me every time I see him with swollen and chapped lips in cold and dry winter. I don't want him to use store bought chapsticks, because I know that most of the commercially sold chapsticks are made with synthetic oils and waxes. Some use petrolatum, a by-product from oil extraction, often contaminated with carcinogens. Most of them use artificial fragrances that include ingredients like phthalates, known endocrine disruptors.
